Nitrogen Chemistry and the Environment

Go to course

What to expect

Nitrogen is an element essential to life on Earth, yet it's excess poses a serious threat to the integrity of ecosystems.

The man-made excess nitrogen in the environment has been a growing problem for flora, fauna, and humans themselves for many years. Meanwhile, policy measures to curb the nitrogen crisis are also causing political turbulence.

This HOOU project compiles and packages teaching materials on the chemistry of nitrogen, utilizing lower and upper secondary school level material.

This course employs a learner-centered approach, combining a review of foundational chemistry concepts with engaging historical context.
