  Starting from the fact that the annual waste generation in South East Asia will increase considerably, becoming an alarming trend, the SWAP project worked on creating pathways that will have an impact in terms of technology and business, but also in terms of awareness, education and training on the topic of sustainable solid waste management. The creation of a dedicated workforce and knowledge building through the promotion of specialisation can only be achieved if specialised courses are offered at different levels of education and if targeted capacity building programmes, governance models, education and training are conducted.
