Video scene Teamwork - Three employees try to solve a problem

This short scene illustrates the dimension of Teamwork.

Watch the video and decide which person works with others to achieve a goal, listens carefully, recognises potential sources of conflict and takes timely action, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with others.

The person in the middle is someone who collaborates with others, works empathetically towards a goal and demonstrates a strong ability to work effectively with others, listens well, identifies different perspectives, perhaps also possible points of conflict, and gives timely feedback.

If you can see similarities to your own behaviour in situations like this, then you are probably a person who scores high on the Teamwork dimension.

Examples of typical phrases:

  • Steven, you think... and you're pretty excited about your idea...
  • And Joan, if I understand you correctly, then...
  • Steven, I'm curious. Tell me more about your idea ...

The teamwork dimension in this example includes items such as:

  • I am attentive when others are speaking, and respond effectively to others’ comments during the conversation.
  • I identify the sources of conflict between myself and others and between other people and take steps to harmonise conflict situations.
  • I provide and accept constructive feedback, cooperation or help to and from team colleagues.
  • I work well with others, understand their needs.
