Video scene Initiative - Team meeting; vacation plan

This short scene shows a behaviour that is characteristic of the Initiative dimension. Watch the video and decide which person is very proactive, willing to make independent decisions and ready to actively drive ideas forward.

The second person from the right shows that he is able to drive improvements in work organisation and win people over to his ideas. He brings new ideas into the daily work. He is up to date and acts quickly and energetically.

Look at the typical formulations. This shows that he has already thought about the topic before the meeting and prepared for it, so he goes beyond expectations and acts proactively. The last sentence, for example, shows that someone is taking direct responsibility for moving the topic forward.

If you can identify similarities with your own behaviour in such situations, then you are probably a person who has a high score on the Initiative dimension.

Examples of typical phrases:

  • I would like to add something to the agenda ...
  • But I have some ideas about it ...
  • I've spoken to the accounting people...
  • I've already been to the head of ...
  • If you all agree, I'll start with ...

The Initiative dimension in this example also includes items such as:

  • I foster improvements in working environment.
  • I take action to convince people to support an innovative idea.
  • I start actions without hesitation.
