Welcome to Part 4 of the interactive lecture on Soil, Water and Food Security by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Otterpohl. In this part, you learn more about what soil restoration is in practice. The following restoration projects will be introduced:

  • Miracle Water Village
  • Slope Farming Project
  • Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)
  • Resource Oriented Sanitation in Cagayan de Oro
  • Climate Farming
  • Loess Plateau
  • La Ferme du Bec Hellouin

Therefore, this lecture will explain what soil restoration looks like in practice. Several restoration projects will be presented, but also alternative sanitation practices, namely Terra Preta Sanitation, which enable production of a nutrient rich humus that can be applied to soil as a fertiliser.
