Agents of Change - Bringing Sustainability into Motion

Our everyday actions are often influenced by the behavior of those around us. But how many people does it take to motivate ourselves and others to act sustainably—for example, to keep our environment clean? Slip into the role of the alien “Observer” and explore people's littering behavior using a simulation lab. Can you apply this knowledge to inspire sustainable behavior in your own community?

What to expect

How many people does it take to reduce litter on meadows and paths? In this course, you slip into the role of the alien “Observer.”

This alien has traveled to Earth on an urgent mission: his home planet, “Immundizia,” is in danger of suffocating under the weight of mountains of trash. Observer is supposed to observe from the outside how we humans dispose of trash in our environment.

Observing humans helps Observer better understand one of the causes of the littering problem on “Immundizia” – in particular, the connection between his own behavior and the behavior of others.
