RUVIVAL Project Description
RUVIVAL creates e-learning materials that deal with sustainable rural development. The project has been running since 2016 as part of the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU). As a HOOU pilot project, the first content was published on the website www.ruvival.de and made available to a global public. The RUVIVAL Team is based at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH).
The aim is to spread knowledge on sustainable practices. This e-learning website gives you the tools to implement sustainable practices in the area of sanitation, water and soil conservation.
You will find our guiding principles in our mission statement. For an insight into the creation of RUVIVAL, take a look at Making-of RUVIVAL.
Logo
The RUVIVAL logo symbolises the revitalisation of rural areas, especially those suffering from erosion. Rural areas harbour one of the most important resources, as healthy soil is the basis for food production. Furthermore, agricultural practices are closely linked to the condition of our waters.
Contents
The RUVIVAL material consists of lessons that include lectures and tools. At the end, methods are also taught based on the material creation and a project that RUVIVAL carried out with the Global Water Dances is used as a practical example.
An interactive summary can be created at the end of each lesson. This summary serves as preparation for passing a quiz. Each quiz is part of an overall assessment to complete the course.
