The TWS OJ is an association of 11 regional water suppliers that work closely with local farmers to promote sustainable and groundwater-friendly land management. The goal is to effectively protect the drinking water resources in the Upper Palatinate Jura and ensure long-term water quality. To achieve this, they support regenerative agricultural practices and provide compensation payments for restrictions in sensitive water protection areas. The measures are voluntary and developed in close cooperation with the farms, taking into account the complex hydrological conditions of the karst region.
