Music and Movement with the Elderly / Eurhythmics Geragogy
The demographic change in our society presents us with current and exciting challenges that must be addressed. Projects, forms and formats need to be developed that enable older people in their third and fourth stages of life to experience geragogical artistic approaches to and through music and movement in the sense of eurhythmics.
Above all, through their own active ‘musical movement’, older people discover their resources and creative means of expression and thus recognise an improvement in their quality of life.
Impulses from the practice of intergenerational eurhythmics show the lively encounter between young and old!
Practical models provide a basis for discussion, highlight new professional fields and encourage exchange on the possibilities and limitations of music education within pedagogy, andragogy, geragogy and intergenerational groups.

Eurhythmician / Eurhythmics and music geragogue
Studied music and movement education/eurhythmics in Vienna; additional training in motor pedagogy, music geragogy, eurhythmics with seniors according to J. Dalcroze (Basel), LIMA trainer (Vienna), intergenerational competence (Valeo); many years of experience working with children, adults and seniors with and without disabilities; Since 2005 Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Music and Movement Education/Eurhythmics and Music Physiology at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna; research and publications on eurhythmics education and eurhythmics geragogy.
